Perry Gilmore
Captain Perry Gilmore is a 25-year veteran of the Amarillo Texas Police Department. His assignments have included field operations, detective crimes against persons, narcotics, and training. For 22 years Perry was the senior hostage negotiator for the APD. He has completed the FBI two week Hostage Negotiator Seminar at Quantico, the Department of Energy one week Crisis Negotiation Training in Albuquerque New Mexico, and numerous other negotiation classes. Perry has negotiated approximately 150 hostage/barricaded gunman incidents. He has taught hostage/crisis negotiation seminars to federal, state and local law enforcement personnel in several states. Perry is a past regional vice president of the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators.
Perry is licensed to conduct forensic hypnosis investigations. He has extensive training in interview and interrogation techniques and teaches a one-week class on this subject. He has a bachelor degree in law enforcement from Sam Houston State University, a master's degree in psychology, and a MBA.
