This distance education course is designed to give you a basic understanding of the Texas County Correctional System and the duties and roles you may find yourself responsible for during your career as a corrections officer.
Goals:
By the end of this course, we hope to give you an understanding of the Systems in the State of Texas and your role in the supervision, care, custody and control of inmates during their stay in your facility. This understanding, and the skills you will learn at the academy and on the job will give you the knowledge and skills to begin work at any Texas County Corrections Jail facility.
This course is awarded 40 TCLEOSE credit hours.
(This is the distance education portion of the Texas Jailers course)
There is an additional 40 hours which you must complete from an licensed acadamey or a jail which has a training agreement with TCLEOSE .
